Alyson Avenue is a Swedish classic rock band. The band's musical style was described as "AOR". The band has released two albums: Presence of Mind and Omega, and are currently recording a third, which will feature previous lead singer Anette Olzon.[1]
Lead vocalist Anette Olzon (who used her then-married name Anette Blyckert for the band) left due to wanting to tour and be part of something bigger than Alyson Avenue, which was more of a hobby to the members. On 24 May 2007, she was officially announced as the new lead vocalist for the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Members of Alyson Avenue continued making music in the new band Sapphire. Their lead vocalist was Thomas Bursell, who was previously the lead singer of Second Heat.
In July 2008, bassist Thomas Löyskä posted on Alyson Avenue's official MySpace blog that the band will continue and are holding auditions for a new female lead vocalist. In May 2009, Alyson Avenue introduced Arabella Vitanc as their new lead vocalist.
On June 10, 2011 Alyson Avenue will release their third album "Changes" through Avenue Of Allies. The record was co-produced by the band members and Chris Laney (Crazy Lixx, H.E.A.T., Brian Robertson) and it includes guest appearances by Anette Olzon (Nightwish, Ex-Alyson Avenue), Michael Bormann (Ex-Jaded Heart, Charade, BISS), Rob Marcello (Danger Danger, Marcello - Vestry), Fredrik Bergh (Street Talk, Bloodbound), Tommy Stråhle and Mike Andersson (Cloudscape, Planet Alliance).
